Di Celibidache alla Scala e Bernstein alla Carnegie Hall, restano purtroppo solamente alcune fotografie e qualche testimonianza scritta. Ci saranno davvero queste registrazioni, riposte magari in qualche archivio fatiscente?

Mr. Richter plays the Steinway Piano
A special concert for the Pension Fund of the Philharmonic had the added attraction of Richter's first appearance with orchestra in New York, though he has given seven recitals this season in the metropolis. The program included the Liszt A major Concerto and that by Tchaikovsky in B flat minor. A relative novelty was Liszt's symphonic poem "Hunnenschlacht," one of the composer's less popular works. The audience was a capacity one an offered many ovations to the participants. The Music Magazine. 1960
↪ Nathan Milstein : La performance di Richter era invidiabile, ma da un punto di vista musicale è stato uno scontro di individui diametralmente opposti. Richter non è affatto un pianista appassionato, così ha cercato di tenere tutto sotto controllo, mentre Bernstein sembrava uno spettacolo di tale ginnastica che quasi cadde fuori dal podio. C'è una certa eccessiva razionalità nella personalità di Richter, anche se lui è un grande artista.
